The Toxic Chemicals Safety Act of 2010 (H.R. 5820)

The Toxic Chemicals Safety Act of 2010 (H.R. 5820) is U.S. legislation that would amend the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 to ensure that the public and the environment are protected from risks resulting from chemical exposure.  The chemical industry will be required to prove that a chemical is safe to enter or to remain on the market.  (This was formerly the responsibility of the Environmental Protection Agency - EPA.)
