Ghrelin and food addiction
A new brain-imaging study by researchers at the Montreal Neurological Institute at McGill University in Canada reveals that the stomach hormone ghrelin acts on specific regions of the brain to enhance the response to food-related cues and eating for pleasure. The study was published in the May 7 issue of Cell Metabolism (7:400-409, 2008).
