Beyond Triglycerides: Applications for Unique Plant-based Lipids in Personal Care

In this course, we will take a deeper look at these lesser-known, non-triglyceride lipids and how their unique properties can be used for personal care applications.

The course content is divided into three lectures, each lasting two hours, to better fit your busy workday. Over the course of the lectures, we examine the chemical properties of lipid components including tocopherols, sterols, triterpenes, phenols, phospholipids, ceramides, sphingolipids, galactolipids, and waxes. We then explore how the different functional groups of these components produce their chemical properties, and, in turn, how those chemical properties can be used to produce specific product performance characteristics.
