Laboratory Proficiency Program (LPP)
AOCS Laboratory Proficiency Program (LPP) is the world's most extensive and respected collaborative proficiency testing program for oil- and fat-related commodities, oilseeds, oilseed meals and edible fats.
LPP Series
The AOCS Laboratory Proficiency Program originated in 1915 with weekly cottonseed samples and has grown for the last hundred years to include more than 30 different series. Series include everything from aflatoxins in various matrices and gas chromatography to olive oil chemistry and trans-fatty acid content. We also work with GOED to provide marine oil series for the testing of omega-3 oils.
Approved Chemist
Who says chemistry isn't competitive? The Approved Chemist Program analyzes results from each series and recognizes the most accomplished analysts. Approval is based on performance during the previous LPP year. Join an LPP series each year by May 20 to be part of the annual competition.
Certified Labs
The National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) is a national trade association which represents the U.S. soybean, canola, flaxseed, safflower seed and sunflower seed crushing industries. NOPA's member companies process more than 1.8 billion bushels of oilseeds annually at 63 plants located in 19 states throughout the USA, accounting for approximately 95% of all soybeans processed. AOCS is contracted by NOPA to evaluate and certify labs for testing soybean meal.
