Webinar: Exploring the hidden aspects of enzymatic degumming by using process simulation techniques

 Dr. Marcelo Usseglio will present advanced degumming concepts related to the chemistry of phospholipids and demonstrate how process simulation models are used through two case studies (a PL-C assisted water degumming and a PL-A1 assisted acid degumming). Attendees will learn how to accurately calculate ratios of phospholipids and phosphorous content (MW) in oil; how to calculate diacylglycerol (DAG) and free fatty acid (FFA) increase according to phospholipid species/concentration and reaction conversion; and how to properly diagnose each enzymatic process in terms of degummed oil composition, oil yield and operative expenses.
