Sugarbeet Seed Certified Reference Materials. AOCS Technical Services has collaborated with Monsanto Company (St. Louis, MO, USA) and KWS SAAT AG (Einbeck, Germany) to develop Certified Reference Materials (CRM's) for H7-1 sugarbeet seed. The CRM's, AOCS 1206-A and -B, were prepared according to ISO Guides 30-35 and are intended to serve as control material for third party testing of sugarbeets for this transformation event. The purity of AOCS 1206-A and B was verified by DNA- (GeneScan USA, New Orleans, LA) and protein- (EnviroLogix Inc., Portland, ME) based detection methods. Materials were processed and then packaged under a nitrogen environment into 27 mL headspace vials containing 10g of ground material (Illinois Crop Improvement Association, Champaign, IL, USA).
