European Section Award for Young Lipid Scientist

The European Section had introduced a sponsorship of €1500 to encourage young European lipid scientists to join the AOCS Annual Meeting. PhD students in lipid chemistry at European Universities could apply for the sponsorship.

2007 Winner - Celine Comte from INSERM at the University of Burgundy. In return for the sponsorship Celine Comte gave a nice presentation on Effects of Hypertension or CLA on PUFA Biosynthesis and Lipid Signaling During Type 2 Diabetes at the luncheon meeting of the European Section in Quebec City, Canada.  A short summary of the presentation is listed in the October 2007 Section Newsletter.
