AOCS ANNUAL MEETING SPECIAL
Message from the Chair
Jim Barren
Beer Training in Seattle
As mentioned last time, a beer tasting and training session at the AOCS meeting, as an LOQ fundraiser and new member recruitment activity, was proposed at last May's Division Council Meeting. This event would be held on Monday afternoon, 4-5 p.m.. We would have a master brewer, skilled in art of beer tasting and training to lead the event. We are planning to do the following:
- Sell tickets on registration to help get a better advance headcount for planning purposes. We anticipate limiting this to 50 people the first time around to see how well it works.
- Tickets will be $20 for members and $30 for non-members of LOQ
LOQ Board Meeting
The LOQ Board Meeting will be held on Sunday, May 18 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.. All members are welcomed and encouraged to come.
Luncheon and Roundtable
As a reminder, the LOQ luncheon will be on Monday, May 19, so please don’t forget to register for this. This year’s menu will include herb chicken breast and mocha fudge cake. The annual Edwin Frankel Award for Best Paper in Lipid Oxidation and Quality will be presented at the luncheon.
The Roundtable for discussing next year’s 100th anniversary program will be in the LOQ presentation room on Tuesday from 5-6 p.m.. This should be shortly after the last LOQ presentation.
