AOCS ANNUAL MEETING SPECIAL
AOCS 2008 Annual Meeting in Seattle May 18-21, Discounted Registration Available Through February 29
AOCS is planning an excellent 99th Annual Meeting and Expo, offering participants a full technical program and many networking events. Edible Applications Technology Division events include:
Division Board Meeting, Sunday, May 18, 1:00-2:30 p.m.
Roundtable Discussion, Monday, May 19, 4:00-5:00 p.m.
Reception and Dinner, Tuesday, May 20, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
($55 early / $65 standard)

Updates and other conference information can be found at the official Annual Meeting web page, including Hot Topic Symposia, short courses, and a complete schedule. Check back; the web site will be continuously updated as new information becomes available.

Alton Bailey Award Winner
Since 1959 the North Central Section of the AOCS has used the Alton E. Bailey Award to recognize outstanding research and exceptional service in the field of lipids and associated products. The award commemorates Alton E. Bailey's great contributions to the field of fats and oils as a researcher, as an author of several standard books in the field, and as a leader in the work of the society. The 2008 award will be presented to Dr. Kiyotaka Sato from Hiroshima University, Japan. The award will be presented to Dr. Sato on Tuesday, May 20th during the Edible Applications Technology Division Dinner. Dr. Sato's award address is titled "Molecular aspects of structure-property-function relationships of fats."
