The Alton E. Bailey Award Dinner and Reception

The North Central Section of the AOCS established this award to recognize outstanding research and exceptional service in the field of lipids and associated products. The medal commemorates Alton E. Bailey’s great contributions to the field of fats and oils as a researcher, as an author of several standard books in the field, and as a leader in the work of the Society.

The 2005 winner is Frank D. Gunstone, Honorable Professor, Scottish Crop Research Institute, Scotland.

Delegates are invited to attend this cash bar reception with dinner following to honor the Alton E. Bailey Award Winner. The restaurant is located at 2777 Mannheim Road, Des Plaines, IL, and is just a 5-minute cab ride from the Westin O'Hare hotel in Rosemont, Illinois, where the "Fats and Oils in the Food Industry" meeting will be held the following day..
