Services or Products Description:
POS Bio-Sciences is a confidential contract research organization specializing in lipid technology. Capabilities include all fats and oils operations from crushing through to modification, deodorization, and isolation of fatty acids - all within a cGMP-compliant environment. Options range from grams to tons under one roof. POS also carries out custom manufacturing and offers in-house analytical services, methods development, quality assurance, logistics and information research.
Corporate History and Milestones:
POS opened its doors in 1977 with 19 staff members and a 43,000 sq. ft. facility. Its original focus was on rapeseed processing. Today, after more than 3 decades of continuous facility and staff growth, POS now offers an expanded focus: bioprocessing of a wide range of bio-based materials. The 56,000 sq. ft. facility is comprised of 6 separate pilot plants, 11 fully equipped laboratories, and a staff of 85. The main types of activities are extraction, fractionation (separation), modification, and purification. Hours of operation are 24 hours/day; 5 days/week.
