Message from Chair
Dear Analytical Division members,
It is a great honor for me to serve as the Chairperson for the Analytical Division. I have the opportunity to work with the most energetic committee and AOCS staff. Their dedication has orchestrated a great program for this year’s Annual Meeting. On behalf of the committee, I would like to extend our hearty appreciation to our session chairs. They have contributed so much effort to recruit speakers to present the latest development in the related fields. The professionalism from our division members has made the Analytical Division the most wanted partner for joint sessions with other divisions! The number of programs this year is phenomenal. The Analytical Division has co-organized AOCS short courses, three joint sessions with other divisions. It will never be over emphasized the importance of continued volunteerism and contribution from each individual member. Therefore we welcome new members and new ideas to maintain the quality of our program!
This year’s Dutton award is presented to Dr. Fred Eller from US Department of Agriculture with the unanimous votes by the award committee for his long time dedication to the cutting edge of analytical method developments for the past two decades. We also recognize Alessia Ermacora from Technische Universitat, Germany and Chenxing Sun, University of Alberta, Canada with the Analytical Division Student awards. Please join me in congratulating them on their well-deserved achievements. All our award winners will be recognized at the Analytical Division Luncheon on Tuesday.
As I step aside from the executive steering committee and make way for the new committee leaders, I thank you for your support and appreciate your continued support to the new leadership. All the committee members are dedicated members who have also served in various positions for the Analytical Division. I am completely confident the new committee will keep enhancing the professionalism of the Analytical Division and bring in new blood to keep the Analytical Division with highest quality!
I am looking forward to meeting everyone in Montreal for the 104th AOCS Annual Meeting & Expo.
